*This fee is a combination of the new reinstatement fee ($229.77) and the work permit fee ($155.00) or study permit fee ($150.00), which has not changed.
For example, a study permit (including extensions) costs 150 Canadian dollars per person. To reinstate your status as a student, the fee will now be 379.77 Canadian dollars. The cost for an Open Work Permit holder is 100 Canadian dollars. To reinstate your status as an employee, the fee will now be 384.77 Canadian dollars.
Where service standards are not met, partial refunds, known as rebates, will be issued to applicants if IRCC receives their complete application on or after December 1, 2023.
